I have friends who are from the coastal areas of NY/Long Island/NJ and some others who live here in coastal CT (Fairfield, Stratford, Milford, Bridgeport, Norwalk) that were hit badly by Hurricane Sandy.  

One of my friend’s family has organized trips to Staten Island and Long Beach to bring donated items and try to help clean up.  I got several friends in my town to donate clothing, shoes, boots, water, batteries, diapers, etc to help the cause.  

Another friend who grew up in Long Beach left today with more provisions.  His wife set up a facebook page to help: https://www.facebook.com/RescueAndRestoreLongBeachNy

If anyone can help with non-perishable goods, cleaning/restoration services, clothes, batteries, garbage bags, baby items, water bottles, etc please consider doing so.
